We adapt the interpreting method to your event: simultaneous or continuous

With years as Sweden’s leading specialist in conference interpreting through our heritage as part of the Swedish Trade Council, we are expert in helping you determine
the best interpreting method for your event. You’ll need to answer a few questions:

• How many languages are involved?
• What type of event is it?
• How long do you estimate the work day to be?
• What type of venue will the event be held in?
• Who will be listening to the conference interpreting?

Simultaneous interpreting is the most effective method for events such as multilingual conferences, annual meetings, events, courses, and board and shareholders meetings.

This type of interpreting is done continuously and simultaneously as the presenter speaks. Interpreters generally work in teams of two per target language. They sit in soundproof interpreting booths and listen through headphones. The interpreters speak into their microphones and the various languages are transmitted via different channels. The delegates listen through headphones to their language of choice by selecting the corresponding channel on their receiver.

Consecutive interpreting is most suitable for brief speeches, study visits, dinner speeches, certain kinds of negotiations and official visits. Part or all of the speech is made and then translated by the interpreter.
